Deutsche Telekom Laboratories (T-Labs) is a joint scientific research institute of Deutsche Telekom AG and Berlin Institute of Technology (TU Berlin). We carry out pioneering research into innovative information and telecommunication technologies, addressing in particular human perception and interaction, networking and security issues. The Laboratories are located on the campus of Berlin University of Technology.
The Design Research Lab of TU Berlin is led by Prof. Dr. Gesche Joost. A team of young researchers devotes to contribute both theoretical and practical knowledge to design research and discourse, nationally and internationally.
The Doctoral Researcher will participate in an exciting research project involving over 120 researchers from various disciplines. For 50% of the working hours, (s)he will plan, organize and lead user studies from a design point of view. (S)he will also be responsible for turning study results to design concepts and interventions. For the remaining 50%, (s)he should pursue own doctoral dissertation.
The candidate should have general knowledge and competence in design practice and will engage in scholarly research. The following knowledge, skills and experiences are required:
