Please forward this to people who might be interested.

Linköpings universitet (LiU) seeks three junior researchers for three positions
as forskarassistent (research associate). Every year in the period 2006-2012 LiU
will advertise three such positions, none tied to a specific department. The
positions will be officially entitled LiU-forskarassistent. The appointments
will be made with the specific aim of having a research group established by
each researcher through external funding during her or his four-year employment
period. A doctoral degree or an equivalent degree is required for each position.
Proven research ability will be the important criterion in the selection of
candidates for these positions. The positions are open to all subject areas.

In general Linköpings universitet is renowned for its multi-disciplinarity and
design research at Linköpings universitet is performed within 5 broader areas;
Service Design and Innovation; Interaction Design and Human-Computer
Interaction; Product Design and Ergonomy; Culture, Crafts and Communication. Two
of these areas are explained below

Service Design and Innovation: Service design and innovation is an area
concerned with conscious and deliberate use of design and innovative thinking to
conceptualize and realize services. In that sense, the object of service design
is the process of co-creation of a service experience. Such a co-creation
process is performed in the meeting between multiple organisations and people
over time, complex systems that coordinate, reframe and cooperate to create
value. Aspects of a service ranges from its most tangible aspects such as its
touch-points, which may be made up of products, graphics, customer meetings, to
the intangible aspects such as strategy, value creation, etc.

Information Design and Media Technology: In technology mediated communication,
such as safety-critical systems, print and other media presentations, it is
often vital to quickly find and clearly understand information, in order to make
reliable decisions. The field of information design is constituted from three
aspects; the products and design goals of information design, the settings in
which they are used, and the processes in which they are created.

Linköpings universitet is a member of several research networks of design
research, such as the Research School in Design, and the Service Design Research
Network.

The research environment is coupled with undergraduate and master's education
in, e.g., design and product development, graphic design and communication,
interaction and service design, crafts and design, and the Carl Malmsten School
of Furniture.

you wish to find a contact for your field of research.
